I support the subject matter of The Martian, but felt it lacked emphasis on why space exploration is important. Star Wars was a fairly uncriticizable movie that did what it had to do to appease various constituencies, but lacked conceptual innovation. Furious 7 and the new Mission Impossible were excellent films. Macbeth had beautiful nature shots. And although it was released years ago, I recently watched The Man From Earth and was thoroughly impressed. I am looking forward to The Revenant.
