Patent pending: nature hike with a geologist column

Every time I have the opportunity to go camping or hiking, typically in the course of thought or conversation I am drawn to questions about the geology and/or hydrology of the environment I'm savouring. Several monthly magazines (and surely numerous websites) feature regular reviews of hiking trails and destinations. It would be a rewarding addition to any outdoorsy publication to pair a hike review with a brief discussion of its physical science profile. Presumably you could start with geologically charismatic locations, like the Needles District in Canyonlands National Park, Utah, and branch out from there.
